What customers say?

“ I'm currently in Montceau-les-Mines and I discovered this place where I received a wonderful welcome; the food is excellent. Be warned, this isn't the place for those stressed about fast service. However, if you like to take your time and enjoy a good meal, go for it. I spent two very pleasant evenings there. If you're in the area the weekend of September 13th, there's a whole weekend planned with entertainment, a small restaurant, and a craft market. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it, as my trip will be over. But it's definitely worth it. ”

“ Very good address, the dishes are very good whether it is smoked chicken or flambéed with old rum, nothing to say. The owner speaks of her island with love. To come back. ”

“ Fantastic welcome, warm atmosphere, and lots of dancing. Great vibe. The meal was delicious. Authentic Caribbean cuisine. Great team. ”

- Stéphane Mackowiak -

“ We came as a couple and ordered a set menu (starter, main course, dessert) for €20.50. Everything was delicious, no disappointments: especially the accras, which we highly recommend. The decor and background music were lovely. The owners are friendly. Allow about 2 hours. We recommend it! ”

- Laura Guigue -

“ A slight misunderstanding: our reservation hadn't been noted, and we found the door locked. Despite this, after a quick phone call, Madame Mathos very kindly opened her door to welcome us and take us on a culinary journey, transporting us to the wonderful Caribbean in a friendly and inviting setting. We only realized it at the last minute, which made her incredibly kind and professional, as she had to get up very early the next day and opened her restaurant just for us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your warm welcome, your kindness, and the wonderful memories we made through your cooking and your presence. We will definitely be back! PS: In response to some comments I've read, if you're unhappy about the slow pace, know that the people of the French West Indies have it all figured out. By avoiding stress, we mainlanders should take note. They, at least, are much smarter than us and know how to avoid burnout or a heart attack. In short, if it doesn't suit you, go somewhere else and let those who take the time to live at the Caribbean pace appreciate it. As Olivier de Kersauson wrote, when you visit a place, the least you can do is explore it. Thanks again for everything, hoping to return soon. An lot soley, God willing! ”

- Amiral Benson -

“ A bit of a wait so not for the impatient, but the dishes are exceptionally good! Best meal I've had in a restaurant in a long time. The welcome is very pleasant, the room is well decorated, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. ”

- M T -

“ I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes exotic Creole or Caribbean dishes; everything is homemade and Christiane, the manager, is extraordinarily kind. The food is good and the prices are affordable. ”

- Aristide D'Almeida -

“ Impeccable service! An excellent sausage rouguail with rice, red beans (extra special), and sweet potato purée... Nothing but good products from appetizers to dessert! Thank you, madam, for taking me on a culinary journey! I highly recommend it! ”
